The new spring summer collection by Sophie Cox marks a departure from her signature of hard edge glamour and minimal ornament. PASSIONFLOWER pays homage instead to the notion of a tropical utopia, resort escapism and the delicate feminine wiles of a paler palette.
In tones of pale aqua and turquoise, pink, raspberry and sorbet yellow the materials are playful and sensual suggesting silk satin for broad daylight, sculpted wooden heels shaped like love hearts and tear drops and an elfish ankle boot that evokes fairies at the bottom of the garden.
PASSIONFLOWER is like a whimsical urban fairytale of summer’s past. The shoes are inspired by everything from botanical etchings to Argentinian Tango slippers and the fragile elegant sandals in late 70s films such as Bilitis.
New innovations in this collection include: Shaped wooden heels, a sophisticated array of heel heights, a laser cut monogram created out of the label’s signature X and a fresh departure into colour. Hurry up spring, it’s high time to tip toe through the tulips.
